Car beautification has reached another level with the advent of LED lighting. LED lighting has a very colourful and unique characteristic that can be manipulated for beautification of landscapes, rooms, cars and any object worth beautifying.
It is now very possible to light up any place as long as the designer is sure of himself. LED lighting can add colour and aura that make a car looks cools and attractive to a potential buyer or just anybody. LED lighting tubes are now being used by car interior decorators to make the car a sight to behold especially in the night.
Based on the customization and user application, LED are generally of three types; miniature LED, High Power LED and Application based LED.
Miniature led lights are those available in very small size and are used mostly in hand-held devices like cell phone, Personal Digital Assistants etc. High powered LED lights are generally used at industrial level. These are used in scientific research, engineering works and in mechanical fields, etc. The name is self explanatory that LED are high powered; its performance is enhanced! Application based LED lights are ideal example of customization. Since LED technology can be available in different sizes, shapes and its performance can be moderated; LED is used in multiple sectors. All these LED lights are termed as application based LED.
The revolutionary LED lighting technology is being applied more and more in the automobile industry thanks to their apparent advantages over traditional filament lighting. LED Bulbs are brighter, longer longevity, fast echo and huge energy saving.
LED lights only spends average 1W power,in other word, it can greatly reduces the battery power cost and in turn lowers the oil consumption. In addition, these lights last much longer than the incandescence bulbs means you would save money on replacement for their life is as long as 30,000 hours.
The history of LED lights is not very old. LED lights were first identified at the beginning of 20TH century by a Russian researcher Oleg V. Losev. As a profession he was a radio technician and one day he observed the diodes used in radio transmission, emits lights when electricity passes through them. His finding went without any commercial interest for long as no immediate benefits was advised and researched.
Later, the father of light emitting diodes, Nick Holonayk started his research and development on the LED. Apparently at the beginning of 1970, Nick managed to improvise the invention of Oleg. Nick is the first one to increase the brightness of LED and he also proved the coloring of these lights. Yellow and red LED lights are the contribution of him. Later on more researchers and scientists were made involved in the development and performance enhancement of the LED lights. The effort resulted in much brighter LED lights as well as more variation in their colors. With the increasing scope of commercial use resulting from the research and development by many people, LED lighting became essential for optical fiber communication structure. Still today, many telecommunications companies are using LED on their optical fiber network.
